I am contemplating ordering some freshwater fish (SAE and Pleco) from this outfit. any comments/experiences?

Thanks, Darren

ps. how well should your LFS be able to respond to fish requests? the fish i am looking for are pretty common, and am having a hard time understanding why they cannot get them, especially with the size of my particular LFS and the volume they do. I know they like me, and i have spent a lot of money there and sent them business, i just think they are a bit disorganized and maybe a little lazy.

i believe it all depends on the "driving factor" of the LFS.

some start the LFS for money, others for hobby sake.

i think most people start a LFS for money sake.

Got all my SAEs from them as well as a few other species and I've got no complaints.

I know some LFS don't want to order fish for people jsut becuase they sometimes have to order a larger quanity then that person wants to buy, so they are stuck with the rest of the fish.

but i don't understand if the fish you want are common and they would most likely be able to sell afterwards.I have just heard about problems with less common more expensive or bigger fish.

how are online purchases done? they ship and you pay.........but do you always get good fish that really satisfy you in terms of color and health?

i've not known anyone in my country that would even buy fish online, we just like to get our own live specimen.

when i was a kid i'll ask the shop keeper to catch the fish for me, now i prefer doing it myself.

About 40% of my current fish I had shipped in. All of those were purchased online (most from breeders) and I haven't had any complaints. You pay, they ship the fish. Shipping is expensive but it is up to the person whether or not it is worth it. For me it has been. Local breeders is the best option but many don't have it.

LOL, our local breeders are mostly about Koi, LH and the ever popular Arowanas.

we don't have much other fish choices actually. :)

i've only see 1 shop selling GT and firemouths.

the rest are..........well..........you know, the LH.
