How to Add aquarium Salt?

I just bought some aquarium salt to treat the ripped fins that my glo-lite tetras and guppy have. I wanted to know what is the best way to add it to an aquarium? It says it will not evaporate so I don't wanna just toss iun there do I?

I have been putting it my filter media and I am not sure if that is the best way to do it.

Mix it with new water for a water change. Start with 1 tsp per gallon of water changed and gradually increase it to 1 tbsp per gallon of tank water.

Agreed, I mix mine in a bucket with treated water and dump it in as I add new water with the python.
