Has anyone used eithor of these two pumps before
Heto, Centrifugal Water Pump, 6800
or
Weipro, 6000 WH
I am going to get two pumps(weipro is cheeper, introductory price) as a return for the sump on my new 15o gal tank.

Haven't used either, but this might help you decide. If the GPH are the same for both, then see which offers a better warranty. The pump is not a place to skimp--if it breaks, you're going to have to replace it quickly, and that can be a huge pain. Reliablilty is very important. The better the warranty offered, the less problems they expect to have (ie, if your car comes with a 50000 warranty, they don't expect to be spending money on fixing as many problems as a car that comes with one for 25000).

yeah they both have a one year warranty so i cant use that to decide. However the heto is 110 watts and the weipro is only 60 watts. they both have a similar flow rate so could this power be an indication of their robustness?

Yes. Go with the more efficient design.

in my opinion i would go with a more high quality brand, so you dont run into any problems, go with a IWAKI or EHEIM.

i cant afford an eihm right now let alone two. The exchange rate is not very kind at the moment. I think i will go with the heto as it is a lot more professionally finished and can definantly take the marine environment, i think heto also makes labratory equipment. On the other hand the weipro comes from a factory china and they couldnt even properly translate their web site, the pump looks a bit less robust and i am not 100% sure about its marine handling ability.

Why not get one of each and if the "cheaper" one goes belly up, you can replace it. I assume you want two pumps for redundancy.
