my clown fish looks like its peeling. ive had this guy for more than 2 months and today hes looking bad and yesterday he was just fine. ive had 2 other clownfihs die on my but all my inverts and fish are fine. m i doomed to not keep clown fish :(

:-( sorry about your bad luck, I have had some problems with Clowns recently too, I am still trying to find out what keeps killing them so I can have a few without killing more fish :-(
Hope you have better luck

Rick

Water parameters? At a guess, stress--you have a high bioload for a small tank, and while the TB clowns are hardy, they grow up in very good conditions, and elevated wastes (not just nitrates!) can cause problems, especially for juveniles.

im sure it was stress but it was looking happy the day before it died
well thanx for the help -kyle

Probably it is this, and is an excellent reason for buying only tank raised clownfish (which I just happen to be breeding :D ):

Clownfish Disease (Brooklynella hostilis) (SW)

Symptoms
Fish can have body legions, with sloughing off of mucus or the skin, increased breathing rates. The fish will become unnaturally pale.

Treatment
Treat with a proprietary medication. It can be treated with meds containing formalin or malachite green

Prognosis
If caught in time can be treated. Can reach fatal levels in 24 to 36 hours.

Comments
The name clownfish disease is a little deceiving as it can be found on many different types of fish.

Are tank raised that much better.. When i bought mine a few weeks ago i had a choice between a wild caught mated pair clowns or tank raised false percula's.. I chose the tank raised. They have seem to taken host to one of my fake anominas (sp?) .. pretty neat...

Oh Guy W.. saw you lived in Naples FL.. I am going to be heading down there soon.. my uncle moved there a few years ago to retire.. is there alot to do down there?
