This is what i DO know...

Maxes out at 1 inch.
Lives in FW.. NO SALT.

In general, puffers dont need large tanks.

Question: I have a 10 gallon tank that I raise albino bristlenose fry in. I know the puffers are fin nippers. Would they bother the baby plecos? or even plecos in generel? How many puffers can I put in a 10 gallon tank? One more thing. I read that the male is aggressive towards other males? is this true? can I keep 10 INDIAN dwarf puffers in my 10 gallon tank? Maybe 1 male and 9 females? or whatever.... Thanks

JBW, the last few postings in a recent thread had a few comments about Indian Dwarf Puffers:

definately don't try cramming ten in there. i really don't think you'd be dissapointed if you only got three. puffers have a curious nature to them and spend almost every waking minute exploring the tank.

if they can fit the pleco fry into their mouth, they'll probably try.

That sounds great.. maybe 1 male and 3 females.... I wonder if they would bother a 1/4 inch plecos? I have about 20 of them and 4 One inchers (the first batch I left in the main tank and they fry were mostly eaten. I was able to save those 4 though). These Albino bristlenose breed like crazy!
