Perfecto Canopy Lighting

i purchased a used 55gal long and it came with a pair of perfecto lights as the hood.
one is fine but the other one hums and vibrates when turned on.
a sticker on them says they were built in '96
is there anyway i can fix the light so that it stops humming?
i'm thinking maybe change the ballast or sumthing??

First, make sure it's seated correctly in the fixture. If that doesn't do it, you need a new ballast or fixture.
