View Full Version : Racking my brain

For the life of me I can't figure out a fish to put in my slowly emptying 46g bow. Moving most of the larger occupants into my 75g. So now I am left with extra space. Maybe someone can think of something I'm not.

What I plan on leaving in tank... (it could change a bit but not completely)
6Tiger Barbs
2 Common Plecos
1 Para Pleco
4 Gouramis

As for filtration... Whipser 60 and Fluval 404, WAY over filtered.
PH high 7s
GH 11deg
I am keeping many many diffrent kinds of fish in these conditions with no problems at all. So as long as I don't have to acclimate them from more than +/- 1.0 PH max I am game. So I am not necessarily looking for something to match my params.

I know there are a ton of fish that could put in there, but most don't interest me. I like odd balls. Here are some examples...

- Loaches (already have clowns and yo-yos, and 3 bottom feeders in the tank)
- Angel fish (like them full grown - might have a problem with barbs... might)
- Puffer (Help my snail problems, might nip too much on my Gouramis)
- Bicher (too agressive? another bottom feeder)
- Fresh Water Morey Eel (yes I know they are brackish)

I just can't seem to find something I actually like without having a big reason why it wouldn't work in the tank. I am really racking my brain here and it is beginning to annoy me. Any help?

TIA,
Chris

Try some rainbow fish, I suggest the red rainbow.

Rainbows crossed my mind, but didn't spark any real interest.

surf around other people's galleries, and you might get some ideas on what to get.

all boils down to your preference now, we can't decide for you.

My absolute favorite in my tank is a leporinus. It is loaded with personality! Gets along well with my barbs, pleco, rts, and gourami.
