I have land hermit crabs "tree crabs" they live in sand right now,but was wandering if they can live in a tank of water?

No, they need to be able to get up to the surface. I think the only setup that would be healty for them would be half land, and half very shallow water. I think it would be best to stick to other crabs that dont need to come to land.

They are mainly *land* crabs. I've found a sandy bottom works nicely, with coconut fiber if it's too dry.

I think there is a such thing as a water hermit crab, but I think it is saltwater. It eats algae.
