undefinedundefinedHi, I just started my tank back up after a year because my son has two tanks and succesfully bred Angel fish. He has over 30 babies now the size of a quarter. I wanted to try and breed them too.. I read that sexing them is hard. He told me that the way you tell is the ventral fins are both the same length on the male and one is very short on the female. I looked up allot of pics of breeding pairs and they both seem to have the same size fins. Can anyone who knows or has bred Angel Fish help?
Thanks :bowing:

Sexing this perticular cichlid is very hard. The only way to be sure is to watch them in the act of spawning. Also this fish tends to be pickier about choosing mates than many humans are... Good luck.

the best way to get them to breed is to let all the babies grow up together and they will form pairs on their own. let nature take its course in other words.
