One of my tanks is a 5g which originally had 1 male betta and two african dwarf frogs. This arrangement seemed to be working out fine until one day one of the frogs was dead. I didn't think too much of it until a couple of weeks later the fish went fins up. Both of these deaths seemed out of the blue, as both were eating fine and acting normally up until I looked and they were dead. Well, a couple more weeks pass, and as water params were fine, I thought "strange coincidince." Well, I decided to move a male betta in from a smaller tank, and as I was releasing him in after acclimation, my boyfriend says, "maybe the frog is killing them." but it was a little late. anyway, does this theory hold true? I have never heard of agressive ADFs, but that does not mean they don't exist. When I feed them, they do seem to squabble-the frog nips at the betta and the betta flares up a storm. Do these frogs even have teeth? How would the frog kill the others? has anyone heard of aggressive adfs? And I thought I needed to worry about the betta's aggression!

i highly doubt the frog killed anything. did the dead fish's fins look badly damaged?

ADF’s are hardly known for being the “aggressor”, but they can leap at fish and other creatures… I think it is just natural instinct for them. To read much more about ADF’s – actually – everything you can imagine, I have included a link to an article on my site, which is hosted for Leopardess. She is a member of the forums and she originally had the info posted here. :)
