Can someone tell me if maintaining a saltwater tank is very time consuming?

I have had a freshwater tank for about 10 years and want to start a fish only saltwater tank. Can you tell me how much more time I would have to dedicate to this change. How many more hours a week or a month? Also, please explain why the extra time.

Thank you in advance,
Bernie

Getting one started is a bit more work than a FW setup. Once it's up and going, a lot will depend on what you have in there and what you are expecting it to look like--but I'd guess I spend no more than 10 hours over the course of a month on maintenance for 2 120 gallon tanks. That includes FW topoff, water changes, cleaning the glass, and feeding.

It's actually less time than I spend on my planted tanks.
