I want to connect a Bio-Wheel Pro 60 to the outlet line of one of my XP3’s. I’m not sure if this is even possible and I already see some problems. My tank has 4” of clearance between the back of it and the wall and can’t be moved. Also I have a 3D wood background so the Bio-Wheel could only hang down about 3-4” from the top lip of the aquarium.

If any of you have a Marineland Bio-Wheel Pro 60 (or 30 for that matter) maybe you could tell me the dimensions, i.e. unit size and how far it hangs out and down the back of your tank, and also how it’s set up, i.e. to a power head or canister or other.

Thanks,
Plan.

I drove a 100k to the closest chain pet supplier to get a look at one of these things. It looks like clearance will not be a problem but I encountered new ones. The intake on the 18” long pro 60 is right in the middle then water flows to two wheels, one on either side. This means a hose running down the middle of the back glass. I don’t want to do this because I have a large, flat piece of driftwood mounted on the wall behind the tank. It fills 70% of the back glass and at first most people think it’s in the tank. They always ask me how I glued it to the glass. lol. All inlet and outlet lines, heaters and air lines are set up as close to the corners as possible. I figure I can set it up to look nice if I only use half the bio-wheel pro 60. i.e. the pro 30. But only 7” of bio-wheel on a 90 gallon tank seems kind of pointless to me. Please tell me what you think.
