Aquatic Plant Club in Central FL

Wish I had the time.....

We have some Red Tiger Lotus that could go to a good home.

On a side note, anyone interested in opening a "quality" aquarium/fish store here?! :thud:

YES! As a matter of fact I am. I would like to open one that specialized in aquatic plants, with a decent inventory of plants and plant equipment, and some beautiful display tanks. There is no decent source in this area except by mail-order.

If I knew there was enough of a market for aquatic "gardens" in this area to support such a store I would do it. I thought I would at least see if I could get a club started.

Jim, I would be interested, but you are a bit far away from me. Joe, how much would it cost to take that tiger lotus off your hands and ship it to my place?

Just shipping cost.

They take time to "get established"..
So when you get some, don't move them. Plant it and leave it. You may want to put a "fert tab" under them too.

Here's one pic of it. Bottom left and in the middle.

I went ahead and sent a pm, and this is the response I got. If you want me to find out who participates in this club in your area, I will try and get a list up for you:

hi! I saw this forum, and know on another board that some folks are trying to form a club also, and wondered how far south you are talking about? I'm assuming Miami area, but wasn't sure. The folks I mentioned are in the Orlando area. I was going to send them to this forum if you guys are close.

Hi!

The South Florida Aquatic Plant Club accepts members from all over the state or in the country as a matter of fact (any plant head can stop by when there is a micro meeting!). Right now, we are mostly concentrated in southeast Florida from Miami to West Palm Beach.

I should be hosting a meeting in December or January.
