im trying to figure out if my house can support a 55g SW tank on the second floor. its in my room now (empty) and im worried that when its fully up and running, its going to be too much weight. anyone have a tank this big on the second story of their house? does anyone think my floor wont support it? how can i find out?

You will be fine. 55 gallons full is about 600 lbs, which wont be a problem. If it is right next to a load berring wall, exelent, but if not, it shouldnt cause any problems.
Like tel0004 said you should be fine with a 55 gal. My 55gal tank is on the second floor and a friend of mine has a 70gal on the second floor.
