This is for a 30L x 13W x 18H aquarium.

I was thinking a South American setup with these fish:

2 Pictus Catfish
12 Neon Tetras

And with several SA plants

The pictus cats may eat your neons as they grow older. You might want to look into cories or other, smaller mouthed catfish.

Temperament: Pictus Catfish: Peaceful when young, though grows agressive with age. Good for community tanks with medium sized fish. Will eat small fish such as Neons.

For a good South American choice look at Cory Catfish. Great catfish look, small size and peaceful. Work well with Tetras. Get a schhol of 4-5 of them.
