I have a fairly new 46gal. thats doing fine so far. But would like to dress it up. I have live rock and a couple white (turning brown) dead coral. I plan to eventually go light reef. Are there any live plants I can put in or should I look for fake. I just want it to look good.

Thanks,
Mark

Very few live plants for SW setups--mangroves, which grow out of the top, are a good option. There's a variety of macro algaes you can get--caulerpa varieties. They are attractive. JMO, but the fake plants look very unnatural in a SW setup, and require frequent cleaning. Given time, the purple algaes will fill in, along with any corals you get. Making sure the tank is stable, and properly cared for, will give you a good looking reef.
