I have a 26 gallon aquarium and 12 fish, 2 angel, 2 catfish, 4 ciclids, 4 goldfish. I have checked the ph, ammonia and nitrate levels 3 times a week and changed the water twice but cannot get the water to clear, it is always cloudy:confused: My fish are doing well, they have been with me for 2 months now and they are healthy, eat like gavones and are very active, some have even grown alittle. I am at my wits end. we have tried adjusting the water flow on the filter::( changing the filters, vacuuming the bottom and replacing the water, nothing seems to work, HELP, I have grown very attached to these fish and don't want to come home one night and find them floating. What am I doing wrong?

You've got quite a mess in your tank, and it's gonna take some work to get it all sorted out.

First, you really shouldn't be keeping goldfish in your tank with the other fish you have. They are cold water fish, and prefer temperatures 10 degrees lower then your other fish. They also produce plenty of waste.

What results did you get for your different tests? What kind of filter do you have? Do you know what kind of species your other fish are?

Good luck; hopefully you will get this post.

Only my diatom filter would make the water here crystal clear. I bought the Vortex XL that I heard about here on the Forums. No more slightly cloudy water.. :)

And while you're answering the other questions, what the heck is a gavone?

Yea, Rocketman is right, the goldfish should be by them selve because they really should have a colder temperature.

Hey Joe, you are really goin around reppin about that diatom filter. ;) Check your pm.

IGKYA!!!, He means that they eat very fast, like they can't get enough food in their mouths.

Hey IGKYA!, He's british, give him a break. They dont know what a trash can (rubbish bin) is over there.

And what is an "IGKYA!"? Haha.

I know, I know... But, it's a great product. I hope people will get the Vortex. I know of no other filter that actually "polishes" the water crystal clear!
