ICH maybe? HELP!!!

I am not sure but after reading all the articles about Ich I am maybe a liittle paranoid. One of my shark cats was being really lackadasical(sp?) just sitting in the corner yesterday and today has maybe 10 white dots on his body.
Ich?
something else?

If ich should I slowly add 10 tsp. of salt(for a 10 gal tank) and get a heater to raise the temp to 86 degrees I think I read?
Is that right for my fish? I read that Koi are a cold water fish will they be allright?

I think that my JD's have ich as well. I noticed these tiny little white specks all over the smallest one and since last night, he isnt' swimming around like he used to. He's scrapping himself against the rocks and gravel as if he's ichting and he hides all the time. I'm also trying to figure out the proper way to treat this.

sounds like you guys got ich if you see the little white salt grains and the scraping against leaves and objects. there are lots of different opinions on how to treat this. personally i have tried the salt and heat and blackout thing and it didn't work, but lots of people say they have had success. my method of choice is "super ich plus" or another medicine with malechite green. don't use this on catfish or for small fish like tetras though. for those look for "clear ich" or another medication that specifically says "for weak or scaleless fish" on it.i have tried those drop in tab kinds too with no luck, try to find the kind that is in a bottle and you put in x drops/gallon.

Well I guess I'll try the drops unless someone tells me different. I've got to find the kind for scaleless fish but that should not be a prob here in San diego

I'm using aquarium salt, aquari-sol treatment (the mild one), and a temp between 82 & 84 and it is working for me. But that's just me. :o
