i was wondering if i could store ro water in gallon jugs, and funnel in the 1/2 cup of salt? if i shook it up real good. would this be ok or does it need constant circulation?

It would probably work OK short term- you're talking about storing straight RO water, not already mixed? The vast amount of what you use will be plain RO for topping off.

I like mixing the salt/water in something large enough that you can circulate it for 24 hours or so before using it. And test the SG after you mix- that ½ cup thing is just an approximation.

ok, i think i may stick with storeing it in 5 gallon buckets for now hehe. i just wanted to think of a way to make water changes in my nano a little less messy :) do you add any suppliments or additives with your r/o water? my unit should be here today hopefully. will i have to add stuff to adjust ph? or anything? ty any advice would be awesome :)

My top off water is straight RO water- nothing added.

When I change water I just use that same water plus my salt mix- the salt mix contains all the trace elements and buffers needed.
