Hello I have a question concerning the needed amount of watts for a tank that measures 24" tall. How many watts of light would I need for a 120 gallon tank this tall if i want to grow low light plants such as java fern and anubias nana? Would 80 watts of NO fluorecent light be enough or do I need more? Thanks

For a tall tank such as the one you have, you should have more than 80 watts. The light, as I understand it, doesn't penetrate as well in a deeper tank. I would go with 2 watts per gallon for low light plants. Or at least 1 1/2 watts per gallon. Javas and Anubias will grow in low light conditions, but do better with more wattage. Not sure what you mean by "NO Flourescent" lights.

Thanks for the reply. By the way NO = Normal output.
