Don't bother unless you're going to breed.

I have 15 discus, all are being kept in water just as alkaline as yours by my kH is 6.

If you are going to breed, use RO mixes so your water is soft (4*gH) and acidic (7 or under is fine). You could even try breeding in the water you have now and see how it goes. You'll just have a smaller hatch out rate, but that isn't so bad if you don't have the space and tanks to grow out 80+ juvenilles.
