I have read that changing 25% of the water 3 times a week.
In doing this when I add new water do I need to add conditioner to distilled water? Will this also help speed up the "cycle"?

I didn't think you were supposed to be doing water changes during a cycle....

oh wait, you are doing a cycle with fish? As far as I know, the conditioner is added to remove chlorine and chloramines in the water..... if the water has neither of these, I'd think it was ok to go without.....

the water changes will help keep the fish alive durring the cycle, im not sure but i heard somewhere that spring or (conditioned) tap water is prefered to distilled water. I believe it was because distilled is JUST water, whereas naturally occuring water has minerals and the like, but be careful what what conditioner (dechlor) you use, some of the better ones have ammonia bonding agents, which would prolong your cycle indefinately. Welcome to the boards :D
