in my 55gallon aquarium i have one 8" black moor , one 3"red cap oranda, one 3" "fancy fantail" and one 3"lionhead.

today i noticed that the lionhead is missing his left front fin, and his tail is tattered. i'm afraid one of the other fish is harrassing him (he's obviously the slower and more cumbersome of the group)

another option is that there's something in the tank that is causing it, but wouldn't it show up on all of the fish?

the ammonia/nitrates are all normal.
i did add two mystery snails last week, one of which is already dead.

i did add a little bit of salt (a couple tablespoons) but i didnt want to add anymore without consulting you guys.

what should i do?? 8(

Are there any other symptoms or is it just fin damage? Can you quarantine the fish? Quarantine with frequent water changes would be a good start. Fin rot is a sign a stress, which bullying would cause. Also, snails are host for quite a few diseases.

Get a salt test kit if you can. I salt to 0.08%

would it be okay if i quarantine'd him in the same tank? like put him in one of those big breeder nets?

my quarantine tank is currently being used and altho i do have another tank, i dont have another filter.

Well what is normal? We need your ammonia/nitrite/nitrate readings if possible. Normal seems to mean different things for MANY people. We have to cover all bases.

If it is the fish that are harassing each other, it is probably a tank space issue. You have a big load of fish for that 55 gallon.
