Well today I was transporting a bristlenose pleco, about 5 inches long, unto a new tank. I didn't know they had spines, well the spined by their gills. So as I got him into the new tank, I used a fine meshed green net to get him out of the transport case. As I let him swim out of the net, it looked like he was stuck by the gill. Upon closer examination I saw it had a spine thing caught in the net, so I proceeded to cut the net VERY CAREFULLY and left a timey peice ( about 2 mm square) of net stuck on his spine thing. I was hoping it would fall off in time, but you guys know better then I do, is it a major concern or am I right in my hoping. It doesn't seem to bother him any.

This was also posted in the catfish section, but this get's more viewing.
