I don't know if i'm caring for my goldfish right, so here's a bit of info about how i care for them. Please tell me what i am doing wrong and how i can get it right. Thanks.
Housing: I have a 7 gallon tank with one common goldfish and one comet goldfish. I have lighting and an air pump, but i don't have a filter. Everything in my tank is safe for the fish. I will be getting a bigger tank when they grow out of this one, or maybe i will put them in a small (inside) pond. Too many hazards outside.
Feeding: Because i don't have a filter, i only feed my fish a pinch of flake food every cuople of days. They eat all of it and then they search the gravel for more.
Partial waterchange: I do a partial water change of 40% everyweek. I use tap water with de-chloranter in so it is safe. I also scrape the tank sides with alge scrapers and check that the plants, light and air pump are fine. I use a siphon to siphone the water out.
Health: My fish are doing fine, but if they were to ever fall sick, i would put them in a quratine tank(it's not really a tank, it's more of a bowl.) I check for signs of illness everday anyway, so i know that they would be sick. Sometimes my fish have days when they are lazy with clamped, droopy fins. Is this something to be worried about?
Please help!
