I have a pretty stable medium/heavily planted 10G and was looking for some ideas on what other kinds of plants and aquascaping I can do. Right now it has some Crypts, Anubia nana, Java ferns, Java moss, and some stunted Vals which all look pretty healthy with little algae (some green spot and that hard black stuff). Any idea on what other plants I can try other then those that I have? I've tried Apons (got too big), Bacopa monerie(?)(leaves looks miniature) and some small Amazons (leaf size too big). I'm looking for some mid size, small leaf plants that can do well in my conditions. Tank specs are 2x13 AHS compacts, no C02, water changes every three weeks, minimum ferts at water changes only, 7.8pH, 8kH, 78F and only six fish. TIA..

How about Hygrophila polysperma? Tropica says it is hardy and tolerates low-high light. Mine seems to be doing just fine in my low light tank http://www.tropica.com/default.asp

Someone also commented on growing it a low light levels on a profile here http://www.aquahobby.com/garden/ppolysperma.html

Or Chinese Ivy (Cardamine lyrata)

Or Rotala (Rotala rotundifolia)

You will not get the red leaves under low light just as Tropica said, but mine is green and growing fast even under low light. :)
