I have Giant Diano's in my 120 gal planted tank and they are dive bomming the drift wood and the rock castle, it seems as if they are rubbing or scratching themselfs. Is this the first signs of ich? Is there something I can do for my fishes. I also have 6 black Ruby Barbs and 2 Pleco's they seem ok

Could be Ich. But it's pretty clear that some ectoparasite is biting their gills. You may prefer a salt bath or you may prefer formalin/malachite green, but it would be good to eliminate these parasites early.

Keeping a close eye on your fishes' behavior like you do is one of the basics for success with fishkeeping!

A sudden change in pH can bring on the same symptom, or pH that has slipped out of comfort range (pretty wide for Giant Danios)

What are your water parameters?

I will check my water tonight. I had just done a water change so the ph change might have triggered this.

ammonia 0
nitrite 1.3
nitrate 30
ph 7.8

I think it was the ph spike because it has come down and the fishes arn't "bombing" as much. My tank is finishing up its cycle, I had a nitrite spike thats why I did the water change. I guess I will have to watch my PH much more closley.:D
