Well i just discovered that my pleco is a catfish, **** lfs. Anyways i was wondering if i got another one of him would it be over stocking the tank.

10g
4Xneons
3Xzebra dainos (prob going back, too nutso for the tetras)
1X South American Bumble Bee cat.... (2.2'' max size)
2X algae shrimp

Anyways i wanted to add another bumble bee cat to keep the other one company...any recommendations? there is plenty of room for them to hide so thats not an issue, let me know what you all think. After all I greatly respect the opinion of those in the forum, youve all helped me out a great deal.

What do you mean, your pleco is a catfish?? Is your "pleco" actually the bumblebee cat, or something else? I don't know anything about the bumblebee... but maybe if you clarify a bit someone else can help you out...

Going on size alone, once you get rid of the danios, i think you ahve enough room in that tank for 2 of them (the bumblebees)...

In that case I think you lucked out. Common Plecos can grow to 18"-24" so that would have been a definite "Bring-me-back-to-the-store" fish.

I know nothing about bumble bee cats but based on size alone I would think he'd be okay in a 10g. I do, however feel you've pretty much maxxed out the tank. Danios really like their swimming space so if you bring them back I might just get some more tetras to replace them and call it quits.

I think you'll be fine as most of the fish you purchased are tiny and don't take much space. As tomm20 pointed out, you lucked out on the south amierican bumblebee cat.

In a few months, it'll be considered your aquariums "top feature". :)

No bottomfeeder though? Let's hope those shrimp don't mate in that small tank! :P

The cat will be a bottom feeder. They are predators--while they tend to be happy scavenging, they will opportunistically eat small fish, and the shrimp as well if they can (ie, big cat + small shrimp = fat tummied cat).

I wouldn't add another one. Bolster the neon school when you remove the danios, and call it good.
