I just got a new clown knife... he's about 5"... I have him in a ten gallon temporarily... but I have a bigger one with his name on it as soon as possible. I have been feeding him live feeder guppies, but he refuses frozen bloodworms so far. Are guppies a healthy diet? Also, I was wondering if anyone has any experience with them, or any advice to give. I'm not sure how big of a tank I should get, and if they will go with pacus... I know they go with tinfoil barbs... but I am worried actually about the pacus being too aggressive. Anything ya'll want to post will not be ignored! Thanks! :p

I know they grow up to four feet long in the wild, and half that length or more in a very very large aquarium-200gal+ ??? If you search for more info in the toolbar of this site, you will find more links and info on many different great knife species.

Try to vary his diet as much as possible. You will need to wean him off live foods if thats all he accepts.

Clown knives grow quite large, in the 2 feet range and need a very large aquarium. These are very aggresive fish , one of the more aggresive knife fishes out there. Try to keep it with large tankmates that aren't bullied easily.

A 180 gallon tank is the first tank that is atleast 24 inches wide, that also has adequate length. If you don't plan on getting at least a 180 gallon, please return that clown knife and do not get a pacu...
