Here's some pics of my 40 Gal planted tank. I totally redid the aquascaping of the tank this week, and just wanted some opinions on how it looks.

Sorry if they're a bit blurry. I'm still perfecting my picture taking abilities.

Welcome to AC.

Your tank is really nice. What kind of filtration do you have?

Current inhabitants of the tank include:

3 Clown Loaches
1 Rainbow Shark
3 Honey Gold Gouramis
3 Neon Tetras
3 Cherry Barbs
1 Black Neon Tetra
1 Panda Cory
4 Ottos

The haze is from the picture. Tank water is pretty much crystal clear.

Current filtration is a Fluval 4plus underwater. I'm using this now as my Fluval 304 recently gave up the ghost, and I didn't have the $$ for a new one.

Beautiful. I've gotta try some of that lava rock. My fish would love the caves and stuff. Where can you get a piece that big? Is it real, or lfs-purchase plastic?

What's your pH? I ask because it looks like some sandstone in there; that drives up the pH, yes? I like the way you've got all the rock in there. I don't think I could get it arranged like that. Must be missing a design gene or something ...

The driftwood in the tank isn't all that big actually. I used to have a much larger piece in there before I switched to using more rocks. I just bought it at the LFS.

Don't have any sandstone in the tank. The rock is mostly rainbow & lava with some petrified wood thrown in. PH is ~ 6.8.

Ya the tank is a bit unlevel. It's going to be moved by the end of the year anyways, so I'll be correcting that problem when it's in the new place.

As for the lava rock, it is real. They always have a bunch of it at my LFS (Big Al's). Since it's the same price per lb as the rest of the rock, it's a better deal as it's alot lighter then the rest of the rock. ;)

you can tell it unlevel by the shift of gravel.......

Actually I thought you could tell by the waterline.
