will it bother my fish if I leave the light on from 6 pm until 6 am ? Rather than the other way around ?

it would probably bother them i would think,
depends on how long youve have them in the
regular time theyll have to get adjusted to it .. ;)

the lighting is also for a natural day/night cycle for the fish (as well as the light source for the plants), so if you have the tank in a dark room, or throw a towel over it or something, then it shouldnt matter. But that kinda defeats the purpose of owning a tank anyways....unless your nocturnal, but im guessing this is more of a convienence thing for you
