i finally got this activation thing cleared up

anyway, i was reading old posts, and i came across this

http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=33840&highlight=penguin+125

on the very last post, a cartrige is mentioned for the penguin 125, i have a penguin 125, and i wanted to know if they sell those still yet, cuz i checked at the site, and i couldnt find it. another idea would be to buy another filter, and when thats too old, i just buy some other filter media and sandwich it inbetween the two old plastc things from the filters. that brings up another question of what kind of filter media would i use?

my other question is i have a 20 gal long tank. i currently have
-5 panda cories
-two guppies (that may or maynot actually be endlers)
-swordtail
-some plants that i dont know what they are

I was wondering what other fish do you guys reccomend. I was considering a cherry barb or two, a bunch of harlequea rasboras(sp?) and/or white clouds. I got the swordtail from my parents "pond" of them (they have this huge tub outside with lots of um) so if i get a lot more, i can just give it back to them since its gonna get big later (its only about 1 3/4"-2")

one more question is would it be possible to get a redtailed shark, since i know they can get to 5" if im correct, i wanted to know if thats too big, and if its gonna harm my panda cories

TIA

EDIT: sorry forgot to mention that i could also return the guppies, same situation as the swordtail

I just bought some more of those cartridge frames from PetSolutions.com for my 330's/170's- item #47401215. I use bulk filter floss cut to fit inside them.
You can also remove the blue media and charcoal bits from a regular cartridge, notch the sides a bit and attach a piece of floss with a couple of rubberbands. The notches just keep the rubberbands in place.

k, i guess ill just use rubberbands, i thought the rubber might be harmful to the fish, like it might degrade and stink up the water

It does degrade and rot- just change the rubberbands every time you change the floss.

wont the rubber get into the water?

Maybe- but with negligible rot and regular water changes it has never impacted me.

Is a change every month good enough?
