How should it be placed to keep the temp. right?

I'm not sure where it should be put, but does it go higher than 82. I'm just asking because if you happen to get ick, the temp should be at least 86.
If it were me, I'd lay it in the back, middle of the tank. It is submersible right?

Yes it is submersible. The two temp settings are 76 and 82F
