I'm looking to finish off stocking my FW tank. The tank is a 55g, temp is 78-79F, pH is 7.4. The tank is med. planted with some driftwood and rocks. The fish I have now are:

7 Cories (leucomelas, 1.5")
2 Bolivian Rams (2")
2 Angelfish (2.5")
1 Pleco (4")

I was thinking something colourful and maybe no-so-ordinary. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hey, you've got pretty much the same thing as I do, except you already have fish, an aquascape, and your tank is 5 galllons smaller. If it helps, maybe you can watch the http://www.aquariacentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3694
thread.

Suggestions: You will hear this many more times later, but for good measure: you may want to get rid of the pleco as they will grow even larger, and will most likely not fit with the smaller fish you have now.

My pleco will max out at about 5-6" so I'm not worried about it outgrowing the tank.

How about some Peacock Gudgeons (Tateurndina ocellicauda)??? They are cave spawners and only get up to 3in long. They are peaceful and love PVC caves or so i read. Peacock Gudgeons are a gorgeous fish and aren't very hard to take care of. Check out these sites for more info:

I hope these sites will help you out. I plan on getting some of these fish myself.:)

Blue Goldfish:

The Peacock Gudgeons are an interesting fish. I haven't seen them in any LFS that I can recall, but I'm defintely going to keep an eye out for them. Thanks for the suggestion!

Any other suggestions? I would like a species that might occupy the top 1/2 of the tank as well.
