Can you add too much chloride if you're dosing KCL and CaCl?
Once my fish load is back up, I won't dose much KNO3, I will dose some KCl. I'm still trying to figure out through the water company the Mg/Ca ratio in my water supply. My GH is 10-11 but the water report only lists 35ppm Ca. It does list Mg for an alternate water source but that one doesn't supply my house.
Anyway, I'm contemplating dosing CaCl if the "missing" 145ppm or so of GH turns out to be Mg.

That is one of the reasons for doing large-volume partials on supplemented planted tanks - it help keep excesses and imbalances in check without numerous PITA tests. Around here 50% weekly has become fairly standard, plus doubling up occasionally (back to back 50% changes, equal to one 75% change) or doing an even larger partial.

I'm settled on 50% weekly and do 2X a week occasionally.
Thanks RTR.
