First, you could try calling the store where you got him and ask how the rest of the tank that he was in at the store is doing. Sometimes a fish is sick before you get it home, and the store may be able to help ID the illness if their fish have it as well.
Second, do a large water change because cleaner water always helps.
Honestly, you've got an awful lot of fish for a 10g, and tropicals and coldwater fish really aren't going to do well long term mixed together. An angel can get 9" high with a body the size of your palm - that fish won't be comfortable living in a 10g for long.
I would suggest that if he's healthy looking and just acting miserable he may be reacting to the shock of being moved into a new tank, the NH3/NO2/NO3 in your tank may be elevated just enough to make him uncomfortable but not enough to make the tougher fish in the tank react, or he could be in the early stages of a disease that just hasn't broken out fully.
Any other information you can post would help, in the meantime I hope things improve.

the angel will soon outgrow that 10 gallon as well as the rainbow shark. Do you have another tank to place them in?

I've been having horrible luck keeping angels in my 55g lately. They all seem to die and a day before they do, they exhibit the symptoms you're describing. All of my ammonias, nitrites and nitrates are low, temp is fine and so is pH. Some have pointed me towards what is known as the "discus plague" that also infects angels. Do a Google search for discus plague and you'll find plenty of info. Also, search this forum for my post from a couple weeks ago. There's a good link in that post with more info.

It does sound like your angel is a bit distressed
maybee its from being taken from his freinds
that were in the tank at the fish shop maybee its
because at the store he was in a big tank and now
hes in a 10 gal either way though he'll end up
getting quite large I bought a 6 month old angel
and have had him about 6 months and hes eating
like a machine and now i have to get a new tank for em ..
If yours manages and I hope he or she will eventually
a ten gallon tank will be to small for em just a heads up !.. :bowing:
Oh and if you want to get em to eat try frozen food
either brine shrimp bloodworms no fishie can refuse em .. @@!! :idea2:

please do not just let them go in the lake. find a LFS that will take them. i let a cichlid go in a lake once because he was beating up on another fish and i had nowhere else to put him, and i still feel so bad about it.
i am not sure what your tank looks like, but you mentioned you had no plants. maybe adding some plants (live or fake) and other decorations would make the angelfish feel more safe and he would come out and swim around more.

Well he is going to die anyway if you don't get him a bigger tank.
