I'm gonna be moving either tommorow, or during the week. My tank is planted pretty heavy and I dont wanna pull all the plants to bag the fish. Would it be safe to remove most of the water, leaving maybme 4" or 5" of water above the substrate and leave my fish and plants in the tank for the 15 mile drive down the road? I just didnt wanna disturb my layout and it will be inpossible to even try to catch the 5 fish in the tank w/o uprooting it all.

that depends on the size of your tank. a lot of ppl here probably wouldnt recommend moving a tank of any size with any water in it. you'd be surprised how quickly a tank could crack with a little shift of weight from one side to teh other. but i'd say that if your tank is 20 gallons or less go for it, it SHOULD be safe.

It is a 20 gallon.. But I might just rip the plants up (ack) and just leave enough water to keep the substrate covered. I remember moving my 10g with 5g of water in it.. If I must move my 20g with some water in it, i'm going to build a frame for the tank to sit on that will support it some.
