Hello All
I am starting a new plant tank and came here for suggestions
(Oceanic 75gal)
Custom Sealife ...Britelite
Ehiem 2215 Canister or Eheim 2227()Wet/dry)

Going with South american theme, Amazons, cryptos, etc
Discus or Angels, school of neons, pair of rams, corys

I have heard it is not good to use carbon in the Ehiem
Is this true???
ALso heard it is not wise to use the Eheim Wet/dry

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I think carbon is only good if you want to get rid of excess medication or if your tank water has been yellowed from driftwood. A lot of people do not recommend filtering through carbon in planted tanks either. Also carbon becomes ineffective quite quickly as well so you must change your carbon frequently to be effective.

I do not have carbon in my Eheim 2026 for over 2 years and everything is fine. Just do your regular weekly water change.

Personally, the Eheim wet dry looks cool but I dont like it. If you want a wet dry, go for the real thing. I love my eheim 2026 and would recommend it to everyone...

Go for cardinals instead of neons, I think they are much nicer :p
