HELP! My Betta DISAPPEARED!

Has anyone ever ran into their betta just disappearing? One day he was in there, although he was acting sort of strange. Just sitting on the bottom of the tank in the back. Then the next day I went to feeding the fish and he was gone. I've looked behind the tank and there isn't much room between the cover and the filter, so I don't think he jumped out, and all I had in there besides him were 6 cherry barbs, so I doubt he got eaten. Do they bury themselves in an attempt to commit suicide? Anyway if someone has thoughts, please let me know.

check the floor. It happened to a kid in my dorm, the betta jumped right out of the tank

It's amazing how a betta blends in with it's surroundings when it dies. It took me forever to find mine, and it's only a 10gal!
They seem to get wedged easily behind or inside ornaments. Keep looking and move some ornaments around.
