I have 2 baby Striped Raphael Catfish. Do you know how large they get? I am reading all kinds of things on the internet from 4 inches to 2 feet, what is the truth? Also, I have heard they are sensitive fish? Is this true?

Any information would be great, fact info and not opinion!

I think they get anywhere between ~4-6 inches. That two footer is probably a different type of Raphael. As far as being sensitive, sensitvie to what? Salt? Never used it w/ mine. Mine has no other problems. Otherwise, I'd assume it's going to be just like a little tank. Oh, but they sure are hungry little guys, I'm not sure if they know when to stop eating, so be sure not to overfeed.

I think I want to special order two of these through work... anybody know if they will get along? or what their scientific name is?
I'm about to go do some research...

As far as I know, they are very peaceful w/ other fish. Just like most catfish, it'll probably eat anything small enough to fit in its mouth, but as they don't get that large, shouldn't be an issue. I have two 1/2" cories w/ mine and it's never bothered them. They are hiders though, so make sure each one has it's own chill out spot. First ones out for dinner, though.

Thanks for the input. I just added 2 of these guys to my 73 gallon tank and they do love to hide! When I asked about the Raphael Catfish being sensitive, I meant to salt and to medication. I was reading that they are prone to Ich (I guess most scaleless fish are). What is the best food for them ? I currently feed the other tank mates (2 silvertip sharks, 2 tinfoil barbs and 2 plecos) flake food, shrimp pellets and algae wafers. Any other suggestions would be great, thanks!

you think that two of these would go ok with my bullhead?

Be careful

They shouldnt get much more than 4 1/2", however, be careful of what you put them with - mine became lunch for one of the larger fish.
