Hello I have 4 comit goldfish for my pond, but they are in my aquarium. Well I am going to buy some clams and snails and I would like to know will they eat the clams and snails. I noticed that they were trying to pick at a snail I found in my pond.
Im pretty sure the comets will investigate pretty much anything in there water and the snails definatly fall into that catagory the smaller snails may be eaten but its a matter of whether or not the snails will be able to reproduce faster than the goldfish will eat them and in a small pond im sure there will be plenty of spots for them to hide and lay there 100's of eggs if they can get established they should be ok, and the comets should keep the population in check im not to sure about the clams though.. Of course none of this information is a gaurentee or fact its just my opinion feel free to get as many opionions as you can and hopefully something will ring true...try looking at the indoor/outdoor pond section ...

they might investigate, but ive never seen a goldfish eat a snail. The one goldfish i owned long ago used to pick up mouthfuls of gravel during and after feeding time while he was searching for food, but he would spit it all out.
i wouldnt worry about it
