I noticed that as soon as my lighting went on, that the temperature raises about a degree or two over the course of an hour. Right now, I use glass panes at the sides of the tank to keep the fluorescent up, but was wondering if you raise it up a few inches if it would affect that change in temperature at all. I'd like to not keep my heater set at 79 degrees F all the time.
Also, if I increase the amount of lights over the tank, will I need to raise them up, say 6 inches above the water and make sure the hood has vents to let the warm air and water vapor pass through?
Thanks a bunch!
ps. if it seems like the writing is off, i haven't slept in 36 hours. Gotta love reports and finals.
