I have a new tank with a few fish, and my balloon molly had babies!

2- balloon mollies
1- platy sunset
1- sailfin molly

My roomate has a tank should I put the other fish in there and leave the mom in my tank? I dont want to loose the babies

I do have tupperware if I need to use it.

OK...I know its late, but my fish is in labor LOL

I seperated the other fish into my roomates tank. I feel bad for them but its only temporaty. The mother molly looks like shes going to explode and her little hole is open HAHA. I have 1 baby in a tuperware with little flakes of food. He doesnt move unless you kinda wiggle the bowl. I am going to get a foam filter cover tomorrow but for now I am going to try using panty hose with a rubberband and turn the filter down.

I just added biospira 2 days ago and my nitrite levels are a little high.

I hope they make it!

you might want to get a small 3gal or something at a petstore, they only run you back like $10. You can raise the babies in the 3gal till they're big enough to put in the regular tank.

keep us posted, good luck

Ya my plans are a small glass tank with a filter and heater. I will use it to grow some small plants and as a breeder tank. The only problem is tomorrow is turkeyday and I dont think any stores are open!

Watch out with the filter, get the smallest type you can and make sure to put some foam over the intake so the babies dont get sucked up. They should be fine in the tup. until friday, just watch out for temperature flux.

I now have 11 and counting. The panty hose over the filter works well. I read that I should feed her more so that she wont want to eat the young. So far the mother hasn't tried to eat any, and shes giving birth to about 2 an hour

So interesting!
