In both of my tanks ( 29g and 20g) it is being taken over by green algae in the water. i tried black outs for 48 hrs and it looked like it worked but a day later, its all back again. i was wondering if anyone had experiance with this product or have any other reccomendations to cure this problem, thanks :)

Algone might work but I don't think it will be healthy for your fish. Do you have live plants in this tank? If so are they healthy? Healthy live plants will fight algae. Do you have any algae eating fish? For example chinese algae eaters, siamese algae eaters, plecos.

yeah, all my fish are healthy and i do have an assortment of live plants. dont really know which ones i have and i have algae eating fish, but the algae isnt growing on the walls, its an algae bloom in the water, my water is green. my other tank (the 29g) is a cichlid tank and doesnt have any plants in it. my tanks look like craP!

From what i have heard algae that is in the water like you said is a PIA to get rid of. I have never had this happen to me before, so I am sorry I can't help you with it. Maybe someone else can.

I've had green water, it's not that hard to deal with. You've probably got a ton of PO4 and NO3 in your water. If you've got these tests, do them and let us know. If not, you should have a NO3 kit anyway, so pick that one up, you don't *need* PO4 if you're not planning on dosing PO4. If you're not dosing, then NO3 and PO4 will be high or low together, having more or less the same source in fish food.

Cut back your feeding, wayyyy back. For right now, feed only once every second day. Do a 50% water change today and another tomorrow. You'll have it licked by the end of the week.

I'm sure that Algone does exactly what it promises, except that it's basically just treating the secondary cause, it's not getting to the root of the problem, so if it does work for you, you'll find yourself spending tons of $$ to replace insert after insert. Besides, whatever's bad for algae is usually bad for plants.
