There are at least two of these things in the tank after we got some tiger barbs today. They're very small and look basically like small white balls with long, thin tails attached. Could these be fry of some kind or some sort of water parasite?
No, they're definitely not hydra (unless there's a single-tailed variety that swims horizontally), and they look more like very small fry or very large sperm cells with eyes.
Is this just picked up with the tiger barbs? I tend to get a bunch of hitchhikers with plants, it doesnt sound to bad, I'd take them out, just incase they might infest the water.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure they came with the tiger barbs. Haven't added anything to the tank in months and I didn't notice these until yesterday right after we finished acclimating the barbs.
