Looks like lava flowed over it, a long time ago? :D

I bet heating and cooling that thing is a snap :p

Wow!

Neat!
Notice the solar panels, also. Wonder if this place is entirely self-sufficient? Hmm-got to go back & check the link...

Yep, it's self sufficient all right!
The builder was either really into being prepared for any eventuality, or else paranoid!
Neat looking house though-just a bit out of my price range! :p

I. LOVE. THAT. HOUSE!!!! And it isn't much more than houses up here...

*drools*

Awesome setup--very neat house, though I'd be interested in seeing sqaure footage info and some details not provided (ie, kitchen? Access roads?). Very reasonable price when you consider the location and land, and also the other items included (2,000 gallons of propane, split wood, and a truck).

Of course, I had to laugh when they mentioned considering the areas safety based on nuclear threat and fall-out zones--are they aware that Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado Springs and Cheyenne Wyoming are in the top 10 likely strike zones for a nuclear attack? If a nuke hits Cheyenne (furthest away from Durango, around 500 miles), Durango will still get the fall-out in lethal levels, and Cheyenne Mountain and the Springs are even closer.
