Has anybody tried this? On DrFosterSmith site it shows a picture of it with plastic plants.

It seems to me for a smaller tank with medium light levels that this would work? I don't want to go all out for a whole CO2 system.

If anyones used it with luck, please let me know..

how long does each tablet last?
could you use three of these systems on one tank?

If you have the money, go for it. That system is essentially a glorified and tweaked DIY CO2 generator with a passive reactor. I think its great that company such as Hagen is finally promoting CO2 injection in the planted tank... but I think you could have essentially the same sort of CO2 generator at a fraction of the cost. Check this link for more info.

I bought the system, just because I wanted the cool diffuser. As Richer correctly pointed out it's just a DIY kit. Frankly, their container looks a lot nicer hanging on the side of my tank compared to the 2-liter root beer bottle on the floor. The system also comes with 2 packets of secret sauce mix, which is basically yeast and baking soda. It works fine, but I won't buy any refills.

So is it possible to refill it using your own yeast? I was considering getting this system but really didn't want to keep having to buy refills. Also can this support a 29 gal tank?

I've got it on my 29g. But I've got a low-light environment so YMMV.

And, yes, you can add your own yeast. After all it's just a bottle on the side of the tank. You may need to tweak your recipe, since most assume a 2L soda bottle.
