I recently planted some Lobelia cardinalis in an established tank. Within two days, I noticed snails surrounding the base of the plant. On day three, all the leaves were floating, cut off at the base of the stem, and the root was nowhere to be found. Anyone have similar experiences with Lobelia and snails? Don't ask me what kind of snails they are; they could be anything. Most likely Ramshorn or Malaysian trumpet. A $3.50 salad!
