Woman Jailed for Trying to Run Over Teens
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL -- A woman is charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to run over a group of teenagers -- and witnesses say it was no accident.
Police say the three boys were bouncing a golf ball when it got away from them and hit the woman's car. Detectives say there was no damage and the boys apologized, but it was apparently not enough.
Investigators believe the woman drove over several curbs, hit two of the teens, then struck a light pole, narrowly missing the third boy.
"She got out of her car and started smoking a cigarette and acted like nothing happened," said Russell McFee, who witnessed the incident.
"She kept going on like it was nothing."
Fourteen-year-old Isiah Grayer is now at the hospital with critical brain injuries. Sixteen-year-old Justin Marshman was also taken to the hospital, but his injuries are not life-threatening. The third boy, 16-year-old Jamel Marshman, was not hurt.
Kathy Allen is in police custody and will appear in front of a judge Monday morning. Investigators tell us she could ultimately face charges of murder.
