Hi, I'm looking to purchase some Endler's livebearers from a breeder in Canada. I'd rather deal with someone in Canada because the inspection fees at the Canada/US border end up costing a lot. If anyone in Canada breeds Endler's or knows of someone that does and is willing to sell a few please tell me. thanks.

Downrock, the genuine Endler's livebearer is passed from fishkeeper to fishkeeper, with the provenance scrupulously noted. All the "Endler's" in the LFS are hybrids with guppy females. In about three more years the hybrids will be all over everywhere. Not for you...
...at any rate, I hope you'll take the more thoughtful route. Try a www.google.com search: " Endler's-livebearer " (cut and paste it with the hyphen but leave out the quotes). That will get you to some specialist resources in Canada.

Thanks, yes I did forget to mention that I was only looking for bonafide pure endler's and not possible hybrids due to breeding lines of unknown origin. I've also heard from some that there is controversy over whether Endler's are actually a true species or just another race of wild guppy. Either way I would like to keep the Endler's line pure and that is why I would rather not purchase any from a LFS. My LFS only carries male Endler's anyways and as you said they are most likely hybrids. Thanks for the info, I'll look into those resources.

You could try emailing http://www.livebearers.org/ I found them following a link that said "How Can I Obtain Endler's Livebearer? " Then i clicked on "Elsewhere in the USA or Canada, try contacting the American Livebearer Association"
Maybe they could help you find a source in Canada
